Anceis Jazz Unit, Daniel Casares - Green Abstract (2023) [Hi-Res]

On their third release Green Abstract the Anceis Jazz Unit borrow inspiration from the 1970's NYC loft scene, aiming for abstract compositions highlighting group interplay and probing improvisations. The 5 original compositions include bits of free jazz, fusion, and spiritual jazz, with the band stretching out and delivering intense performances.

Saxophonist Jackson Harvey continues to develop an increasingly abstract style, while guitarist Emma Sjue performs passionate solos and solid accompaniment. Pete Weiss and Daniel combine lively rhythm section playing with passages of high-energy chaos. Green Abstract delivers a modern day interpretation of late 60's and early 70's left-field jazz.
