Maria Pia De Vito - This Woman's Work (2023)

A brand new quintet for the second project that Maria Pia De Vito launches in 2022. After "A still volcano Life", a work focused on female creativity, in music and poetry with Rita Marcotulli and Luca Aquino, this work, based on original compositions by De Vito, Bortone, collective compositions and reinterpretations of songs from various sources, from the jazz of Tony Williams, Ornette Coleman, to the songwriting of Elvis Costello and Kate bush, elements of English and American folk, proposes a reflection on the female condition, and on the survival strategies that women have been using for centuries now. The inspiration for the lyrics comes from authors such as Virginia Woolf, Rebecca Solnit, Margaret Atwood. An electrical project with a lineup of unique and innovative talents.
