BALKO - Balkonization Live & Improvised (2023)

BALKO is an experimental rock band that dips it's collective toe into multiple genres. Hailing from Sydney's East BALKO have been tapping about for nearly 6 years, with multiple releases drawing from early 90's Talk Talk and modern-day post punk/prog bands in the vein of black midi and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard,

Diving, once again, into the experimental basin, BALKO is releasing an 8-track live LP recorded at LazyBones Lounge (Marrickville, NSW) during a fully improvised set at a PsyconFest event. It features wildly expressive riffs by Jordan Eves (guitar and vocoder) along with intricate harmonies from Nigel Malcolm’s tactful touch (keyboard and synthesizers). These improvised melody lines are supported by a strong rhythm section with Jack Bennett on bass and Ronan Mac Oireachtaigh on drums.

The live album 'Balkonization Live & Improvised' will be released via PsyconFest Records on July 28 and a first single ‘Gently Pacify’ out on 7 July 2023.
