"This CD is one of the projects in my professional career that has given me the most joy. It began with the selection process; for me, this has meant a re-encountering of my works and also an examination of my path as an artist. I chose mainly those works that are landmarks for me, in the musical sense, but also in terms of the circumstances in which they were created and the performers to whom they are dedicated. In total, I have compiled eight chamber music works written between 2007 and 2019 for various instrumentations, with the piano forming the starting point in each case, to which the clarinet, percussion and, above all, string instruments are added; the latter is particularly suited to my sensibility and to what I wish to express." Laura Vega Born in 1978 in Vecindario, Gran Canaria (Spain), Laura Vega took lessons in composition, harmony and counterpoint with Francisco Brito at the music school in her hometown and later at the Las Palmas Conservatory, where she had composition lessons with Daniel Roca and Xavier Zoghbi. She also studied oboe, alongside piano, music theory and composition, which she also completed with distinction. Further studies followed with Jos? Luis de Del?s at the University of Alcal? de Henares and with Jos? M? S?nchez Verd? at the Escuela Soto Mesa in Madrid. In 2016, she completed her doctorate at the University of La Laguna, Tenerife (Spain). Her oeuvre includes more than sixty compositions. Between 2008 and 2011, she was president of the composers' association PROMUSCAN. From 2003 to 2021, she was a professor at the Conservatorio Superior de M?sica de Canarias. She has been a member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of the Canary Islands since 2011.
