Manfred Fuchs Trio - The Gentle Gangster (2023)

With "The Gentle Gangster", the Manfred Fuchs Trio brings its fourth studio album onto the market - and it is convincing: "Many other guitarists are amazed," says Bernd Guido Weber in the "Schwäbische Zeitung" about the solos in the ten pieces by the Allgäu musicians. But Manfred Fuchs (guitar), Tiny Schmauch (bass) and Markus Kimmich (rhythm guitar) can not only elicit amazingly fast gypsy jazz from their instruments, but also invite you to dream with romantic motifs and gentle rhythms. “Melodies that hit the ear and heart, with astonishing virtuosity,” writes Bernd Guido Weber. His conclusion: "This CD brings joy. And a good mood." Manfred Fuchs has already impressed on stage alongside scene greats such as Andreas Öberg, Wawau Adler, Robin Nolan, Ismael Reinhardt and Diknu Schneeberger. Since 2012, the successful author of several Gipsy Jazz textbooks has had his own trio with which he plays self-written pieces: inspired by the father of Gypsy Jazz, Django Reinhardt, but always with his very own touch. There is a premiere for the Manfred Fuchs Trio on "The Gentle Gangster": bassist Tiny Schmauch contributed the song "Das Scheibtruhenlied", all other pieces were written by Manfred Fuchs. "The Gentle Gangster" was of course created in the Allgäu - in the studio of Werner Walravens, who once again perfectly brings the sound of the trio from the stage onto the record.
