The National have released a new album. It’s titled Laugh Track, and the band first announced it from the stage at their Homecoming music festival on Friday, per Stereogum. Laugh Track was recorded during the same sessions as The National’s April release First Two Pages of Frankenstein, and serves as a companion album. Listen to it below.

Laugh Track features guest appearances from Phoebe Bridgers and Rosanne Cash, as well as the song “Weird Goodbyes” with Bon Iver, which the National first released in April 2022. In support of the album, the band has added multiple dates to a fall U.S. tour, and announced spring shows in Australia with openers Fleet Foxes. See a full list of tour dates below.

The National’s festival in Cincinnati, Ohio returned this year with performances from Patti Smith, Pavement, Arooj Aftab, Weyes Blood, and more. They last issued an album in April with First Two Pages of Frankenstein, which featured guest appearances from Taylor Swift, Sufjan Stevens, and Phoebe Bridgers. The National most recently shared the new singles “Space Invaders” and “Alphabet City.”

Many thanks for Hi-Res.
