These 4 “blue-footed boobies” chose to go on stage in blue shoes. That’s how we recognize them now. The authenticity, generosity and self-mockery that characterize them in the city as on stage are the fuels of their music.
The hoarse and recognizable voice of Ronan, songwriter-guitarist, also One Man Band in a parallel life, and the power of the harmonica of Marko Baland, who has accompanied Sanseverino since 2017, are at work. Supported by a solid rhythm section in the person of Guillaume Dupré, founding drummer of the late ETHS (flagship group of the French metal scene) and by the base of Pascal Blanc whose CV includes collaborations with artists such as Soprano and Nolwenn Leroy without forgetting jazz projects like 3 In A Box, BFB is a formidable machine that transcends the blues.
Recorded at Studio Besco, an old farm, by Jean-François Ginouvès, this 2nd album wonderfully captures the pleasure and trance that these
4 musicians infuse their raging boogie interspersed with slow-groove blues. Impossible to resist this music which echoes John Lee Hooker and RL Burnside among others. Blue-Footed Boobies move bodies and warm hearts.
