Sunset Hill Jazz Band - Sainte-Catherine en décembre: La musique de Paul Rossy (2023) Hi-Res

Dr. Rossy's artistic projects are numerous. In music, he writes, composes and performs his own songs and gives them another life thanks to the arrangements of the Sunset Hill Jazz Band. For children, he offers magnificent stories thanks to his storybooks, illustrated by Janique Crépeau, and on stage, he creates shows combining music, dance and theater, to encourage young people to take an interest in the performing arts.

As a follow-up to the albums “Jazz Poetry: The Music of Paul Rossy” (2017), “Oasis: The Music of Paul Rossy” (2018) and “Montreal Winter Suite: The Music of Paul Rossy” (2020), the author -composer repeats his collaboration with the Sunset Hill Jazz Band and offers “Sainte-Catherine in December”, a winter album which will be released on October 27.

The album highlights the great talent of the musicians who form the Sunset Hill Jazz Band, namely Morgan Moore, Lex French, Annie Dominique, Mark Nelson, Jonathan Cayer, François Jalbert, Patrick Graham, Benjamin Deschamps and Taylor Donaldson. The album Sainte-Catherine en December is a re-orchestration of the artist's folk songs, combining the atmosphere of the Montreal jazz scene with some Latin influences.

Thanks to the arrangements of Mark Nelson, and the co-production of Paul Rossyet of the Sunset Hill Jazz Band, Ian Kelly produces this album which will brighten up cold winter days.
