This album was written deep in one of the lockdowns of 2021; I had no idea I was making an album. It seems to me that this thing we give a singular name to is actually a loose net wrapping around clusters of time and experiences that branch out, unruly, in all directions.
Things callous us: adventure, work, money, time, even love. Underneath is a soft skin that feels everything as if new. Everything that has happened is still happening there, all at once, along with everything that will happen. It’s a busy place. I found that songs hide there, waiting. They are maps that mark out the locations of those inner sites and topographies. I mapped some of mine. I shared the maps with my friends. I felt everything with them as if new; we made this together with our soft hands and hearts, and pass it now to you. This album was a labour of love and vulnerability made alongside some of my favourite musicians and people, and I know you are going to like it.
