Portland Oregon based premiere funky blues group Hip Stew is a 5 piece ensemble that transmits pure musical soul and power. The band is inspired by the blues and soul music with funk influences. Hip Stew is composed of seasoned and accomplished players. Lead singer Miaya Shambry brings the Aretha soul and power. Guitarist Dan Johnson is a powerful player that is very versatile. Keyboard and organist Jeff Simonson brings the bluesy sounds with energetic harmonies. Bassist John Pounds delivers the heavy and solid foundation that drives the group. Drummer Charles Neal keeps the whole thing in sync and makes the music dance. Hip Stew is sure to provide the audience with a divine and spiritual musical experience.
