Tenth volume for Sister Bossa, the most important European collection of contemporary music contaminated by Brazilian music. The selection opens as usual with songs closer to the nu jazz world, to move on towards bossa nova, funk and finally house. The first tune is taken from the album by Maestro Garofalo, with Alan Scaffardi on vocals, who sang on ‘Staying For Good’ by Papik (one of the genre’s hits of the past season). Followed by Papik himself, featuring the voice of Ely Bruna, with his new single ‘Notes of The Past’. Papik produces two more songs in this compilation: ‘Why I Love’ by new artist Fred Buccini and Ely Bruna’s own ‘1986’. London based radio stations Jazz FM and BBC are already playlisting these ones.
Of course we couldn’t have done without Aaron Tesser and his New Jazz Affair with lead vocals by Fabrizio Rispoli, with an unreleased radio version by Viani DJ of the first single from his new album. The selection moves on with the cinematic sound of John Type, the latin touch of Caradefuego and Robert Passera’s exciting cocktail style to land on United Peace Voices’s new production, a happy solar bossa. From here on we get into a more uptempo territory with the funk of Nu Braz and the latin house sound of Belladonna, Estrela Guia, Don Carlos and XuXu feat. Tempo Rei. Final touches of the compilation are an unreleased tune by the late DJ Rodriguez and a very peculiar song by Faze Liquide featuring the voice of Silvia Donati.
