The CWC plays original jazz compositions - melodic, emotional, ranging from the subtle and intimate, to the boundless and wild. People often say the uniqueness that is CWC stems from the ability of all four to listen, interpret, and play spontaneously for the music. And that’s truly something we each aspire to. But we believe the ‘secret sauce’ is more fundamental: the Montana state of mind. Montana has a way of pulling together people who love wild places and find the particular kind of quiet that comes in the wind and wide sky. With a thirty-two-year-age gap from youngest to oldest and rich diversity in genres, styles, and musical backgrounds and influences, we came together by all choosing to make lives and music in this special place. CWC has appeared live on Montana Public Radio / KUFM and been a favorite at Missoula’s jazz festival (Jazzoula) and First Night for years, took first place in jazz at the 2014 Zoo Music Awards, and backed up international recording artist Perla Batalla.
