"During the Cold War era, Victor Japan's digital recording technology was concentrated in Moscow and recorded under strict security. The first installment of the JVC Digital Moscow Series!
A realistic impact sound full of weight. The overwhelming roar of the orchestra is brought back to life with K2HD mastering!
As a commemorative project for Vladimir Fedoseyev (1932.8.5-), who will celebrate his 90th birthday in 2022, we will be recording all-Russian music recordings with the Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra, which Victor recorded mainly in Moscow from 1981 to 1993. It will be reprinted on SACD in three periods. The three titles (six albums) released in this first period were made to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra in 1981.
Recorded in collaboration with the Russian label Melodia in 1981, these works were recorded using the most advanced equipment of the time brought from Tokyo to Moscow.
The two songs included in this album were released independently, including when they first appeared. "Spring Festival" is the memorable first recorded song, and it was praised as an excellent recording when it was released. ``Scheherazade'', like ``Russian Orchestral Masterpieces I'', was recorded at the end of this project, and although the sound quality is the same, you can also enjoy a stable sound. The recording of this first "Spring Festival" by the director at the time, Mr. Nojima, which is newly included in the commentary book, is interesting, but the performance also conveys the original primitive aspects of this song, especially in the hearts of the listeners. will strongly capture it. You can clearly see that the orchestra still retains the somewhat rough tones of the Soviet era in 1981. In that sense, the fact that Victor recorded it digitally at the time was valuable in itself, and it must be said that it had a great impact on various recording environments in the Soviet Union after that. "Scheherazade" is one of their specialty songs, and the colorful performance is very attractive. It was performed several years later during a performance in Japan, and left a huge impact on Japanese audiences.
