Wegdayit - Asalafi (2023) [Hi-Res]

Wegdayit, born Dawit, is one of our new artists launched in 2023, through a 14 tracks LP titled ‘Asalafi’. He has surprised music listeners with his unique sound and style of music. His sound incorporates melodies of old church songs of St. Yared with a touch of jazz and folk style of music. He can be described as a folksong writer due to his lyrics and style. His music is the result of him experimenting the general concept of music collectively that he calls “WEG”. He has since then performed on 2 big stages; 07 Kimsha Concert held at Ghion hotel Addis Ababa and at Sanqa Souq concert held at the Venue Warehouse.
