The 8th Competition for Piano was held from June 21 to 25, 2023, in Sendai, Japan. 31 talented young musicians, who passed the preliminary screening out of 438 applicants, gathered in Sendai from all over the world and gave enthusiastic performances. The CD, which was recorded as a complimentary prize for the first prize winner, features the piano section winner, Luo-Jatin, who, based on his exceptional technique, uses a variety of tones and transforming sounds to create a richly shaded expression with a sense of clarity. The Sendai International Music Competition was established by the city of Sendai in 2001 and is held every three years.
