Alex Beaupain reunites with Thierry Klifa on the big screen after his theatrical productions in this detective comedy with a lush orchestral score which invites the cimbalom and the nostalgic piano in a spirit of adventure while being tinged with gravity to support the criminal plot. The music plays with references, from Michel Legrand to Georges Delerue (for the cinema of Jean-Paul Rappeneau and Philippe de Broca), including Henry Mancini (Blake Edwards) and even John Barry (James Bond). He also composes songs, as he is used to doing since his collaborations with Christophe Honoré. “Les Rois de la piste” for Fanny Ardant, who plays Rachel, a mother at the head of a gang of crooks made up of her sons and grandsons, and “Juste moi” for Nicolas Duvauchelle, one of her sons, accompany a dance scene.
