Pablo Ochoa - Cambios (2023)

Born in the city of Loja, Ecuador. In 1998 he joined the group “Drums and Other Demons” as a percussionist, where he began his musical career. In 1999 he began his studies of alto saxophone at the “Jaime Mola” Superior Conservatory of Music. In 2010 he finished his studies at the National Superior Conservatory of Music in Quito. He has received classes with teachers from Ecuador, Cuba and the United States. He was part of the Big Band Jazz of the National Superior Conservatory. He was also part of groups and ensembles such as Giro Jazz, Bird Quartet and different jazz groups, with whom he has participated in musical events such as Jazz In Situ, International Jazz Festival, Music Festival, among others.

In 2012 he finished recording his first album titled “ Caminando ” in which he presents his compositions in various styles including: blues, bossa nova, swing, Latin and smooth jazz; rhythms that have accompanied him throughout his musical career. In 2013 he made the Official Launch at “Casa de la Música” accompanied by musicians with great experience in the country’s music scene. In 2018 he finished recording his second album titled ” Transparente “. In it he compiles songs of his own in styles such as: Samba Funk, Smooth Jazz, Jazz Rock, among others. The official launch takes place at the Teatro México in the city of Quito, together with renowned artists from the city and the country.

He currently works as a composer, arranger, performer and teacher working with boys, girls and young artists who see music as a training option for life. He serves as a saxophone and baroque flute teacher. His third album called CAMBIOS (2023) features Eric Marienthal, Nelson Rangell and Matthias Beckmann.
