Phil Abraham started by playing with Claude Luter, Herman Sandy, Hal Singer then Jacques Pelzer, Jean Louis Rassinfosse, Toots Thielemans, Richard Rousselet, Michel Herr, Bert Joris, Art Farmer and Hein Van De Geyn. In demand as a soloist, he plays most often with quartet.

The band has picked up a number of distinctions: in May 1988 it was awarded the prize as Best young Jazz Band during the Brussel Jazz Rally; in June 1984 first prize of the Sorgues international competition; and in September 1988 it was elected Best Belgian Group at the 10th International Jazz Contest of Belgium. Abraham was also elected best soloist at the Défense competition of Paris in 1989.
