Pent ventures a debut statement of crisp and aerated ambient electronica and post-club diffusions via shy’s 3XL nexus - one for fans of Kindohm, Perko, Kakuhan.

On ‘Trepidation Cycles’ Pent trades in a style of shearing sound design and displaced rhythmic syntax primed for listeners who like it abstract but just about yoked back from all out oddness. We can tell you bot all about their background, but the music speaks on its own merits with a keen exploration of im/possible physics perfused with a subtle emotive pull.

They take all the time they need to conjure a hermetic sound world ranging from a 12 minute transition of fathomless architecture to liquified pulses and insectoid noise on its title piece, thru the minimalist chamber music timbral investigations of ‘antagonisms’ with label mate Dylan Kerr, and the fluctuating partials of ‘inert_773x7l_y7’, to the fractal wormholes that open out from ‘babble acids’, into the lushly planing, gyring shapes described in ‘fragments’ featuring cellist Dorothy Carlos.
