Linda Gambino - Unexpected (2024) Hi-Res

“Unexpected” is released today, the first jazz album by singer Linda Gambino, available on CD, digital download and streaming on all the main digital platforms. The album is published by the Filibusta Records label, promoted by BlueArt Promotion and distributed by IRD International Record Distribution.

“Unexpected” represents a musical journey that crosses different genres and eras, demonstrating the artistic versatility and creative eclecticism of Linda Gambino. The title of the album perfectly reflects the spontaneous origin of the project: what began as a simple discussion on the chords of a song between Linda and guitarist Andrea Zacchia turned into a complete album, thanks to an October afternoon full of inspiration.

The album includes three original songs signed by Linda and four standards, selected to reflect the love and jazz training of the singer, who grew up in the United States and matured by studying at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston and listening to the great performers who have made the history of African-American music, including Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Betty Carter. This artistic choice brings a breath of freshness and dynamism to the album, in particular in the opening track, My Favorite Things, proposed in a surprising four-quarter version, which gives the song a unique and captivating flow.
