Mr Paganini, founder of the collective known as Paganini Caravan and artistic director, is a singer-songwriter, author and performer. His songs are characterized by a combination of dirty and smoky sounds that bring to mind clandestine clubs overseas. The dark atmospheres of his music evoke the work of personalities such as Tom Waits, Arno, Nick Cave, Daniel Melingo, Willy DeVille. A powerful, baritone and scratchy voice enhances the refined lyrics of songs that tell of "the smell of the sound of cursed places that smell of dust and whisky, coarse laughter and phrases said in a whisper...".
His Americana repertoire, interpreted in the 'Mr Paganini and the Devil's Band' project, takes up the plots of the musical tradition of the South of the United States, the Swamp Blues of Louisiana and the Dark Country, with post-country and grunge derivations. Mr Paganini is currently busy releasing his first album 'Me and the Devil 1st Act: Rhymes of Perdition'. The two singles, 'Far from home' and 'The Devil's Wish', which anticipated the release of the album, are currently available on the major digital platforms.
The Italian repertoire, 'Mr Paganini and La Carovana', ranges from early jazz to Francoise chanson, expressing Balkan sounds and gypsy atmospheres at the same time. The project fits fully into the tradition of Italian author music, retracing the steps of great singer-songwriters such as Gianmaria Testa, Stefano Rosso, Fabrizio De Andrè, Paolo Conte and Vinicio Capossela. Since its birth, La Carovana has performed in various jazz clubs in the capital, starting from the Jey Jazz Club, the Bouad-Aire Lounge, or the Charleston, and participated in the Borgo di Sermoneta Evenings in the summer of 2023, expressing itself as a mini orchestra on occasion in New Orleans style, piano, double bass, tuba, sax, trumpet, or in Mediterranean style guitar, violin, mandoloncello and accordion. The single 'Mambola', currently in progress, will precede the release of the album scheduled for June.
