Mohamed Rouicha - Mohamed Rouicha 1950-2012 (Hommage) (2012)

Mohamed Rouicha (1950 - 2012) was a giant of modern Moroccan music. Hugely prolific, he recorded a dizzying number of albums over a 50 year career mostly for Casablanca label Tichkaphone, some early singles for Boussiphone and Koutoubiaphone.
Rouicha was from the town of Khenifra in the High Atlas and would sing his songs in both Tamazigh and Arabic, depending on the audience. A master of the traditional guitar like loutar, Rouicha became famous across Morocco for his beautiful playing and his poetic lyrics.
