Chopin University Press - Chopin University Modern Ensemble – debiut (2024) Hi-Res

Chopin University Modern Ensemble is a new music ensemble established in 2018 at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music by His Rector, prof. Klaudiusz Baran thanks to the efforts of teachers of the Faculty of Composition and Theory of Music - Ignacy Zalewski and Leszek Lorent, supported by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Teaching, Prof. UMFC Aleksandra Kościowa.

From the beginning of its operation, the band had two basic goals - to promote the latest music and build a repertoire based on the classics of modern music.
In accordance with the adopted direction of activity, the selected repertoire consists of phonographic premieres of works composed by artists associated with the FCUM: graduates - Vice-Rector for Science, Prof. Paweł Łukaszewski (Divertimento) and Żaneta Rydzewska (spit it out), PhD student - Marcin Jachim (Pióro Maat) and student - Krzysztof Kicior (Collapse) and the cycle Folk Songs by Lucian Beria, which is a classic of new music.
The album documents the effects of the band's two-year development. "It is an expression of the passion of young musicians, male and female students, who - gathered for (optional) classes on the performance practice of new music - developed and are developing their interest in musical contemporary times" (Ignacy Zalewski, Leszek Lorent).
