‘ Nice Scribbles ‘ Here is Nice Scribbles, the latest release by violinist Marcello Sirignano. Listen at the starting bars it’s already clear which is the purpos: tryin to enfranchise the violin from commonplaces which relegate it into jazz, into a limited stylistic area. Roman violin player, helped by a flawless and sumptuous rythm section (C. Filippini at the piano, F. Puglisi a the bass and C. Micalizzi at the drums), reaches his goal, churning out 12 tracks which explore different fields and musical idioms through rigor but also sense of humour. The most of compositions are written by Sirignano himself and they mirror author’s musical career, in its continuous becoming, faithfully. Throughout jazz and high-class fusion. The whole thing is enriched by three Italian musician’s contribution, a jazz giant trio: G. Mirabassi, D. Rea an F. bosso.
