John Stewart also recorded as Johnny Stewart though he will be most remembered for his collaboration with Scott Engel. Together they wrote and arranged for many other groups in the late 50's and early 60's as well as releasing their own recordings under the monikers "The Dalton Brothers" and finally as "John Stewart & Scott Engel". The latter were released at the time when Scott had already left to become part of The Walker Brothers. Such fame was used to promote the collaborations with John Stewart by having various comments printed on the record sleeves and/or labels stating "Now Known As The Walker Brothers", a blatant misrepresentation of the facts. John Stewart was never a member of The Walker Brothers.
John also worked with Nicky James as The Jamisons in 1966.
