Blue Oyster Cult - Ghost Stories (2024) CD-Rip

'Ghost Stories' is a selection of modified songs written between 1978 and 2016. These tracks have long been considered "lost pearls", for the most part were originally recorded in 1978 - 1983, with the exception of the track "If I Fell" in 2016. It also includes the only known recording of a cover version of "Kick Out The Jams" by MC5, which was regularly performed at concerts at the time. Some of the songs were recorded during studio sessions, some during rehearsals, in the hope that they would one day see the light of day.

Initially, George Geranios, who worked with the band as a sound engineer at the peak of their career, acted as the producer of these recordings. He digitized the material from the original analog tapes, and then Steve Schenck and guitarist and keyboardist Richie Castellano used artificial intelligence to split the tracks and mix the material again.

Castellano, members of the original line-up Bloom and Roser, who still remain in the ranks, took part in the studio revision of the old songs. Former bassist, vocalist and guitarist Joe Bouchard recorded a number of overdubs for the album, and the drum parts belong to Albert Bouchard and Rick Downey, who participated in the band from 1967 to 1981 and from 1981 to 1985, respectively.
