Sean Costello’s (Isostatic, England) latest album on Exosphere is a cinematic ambient journey, exploring one of nature’s lesser-known wonders: the short-lived electrical discharges that occur in the earth’s upper atmosphere during thunderstorms, collectively referred to as Transient Luminous Events.

Isostatic was initially inspired to create a single 30 minute long-form ambient piece with the feel and atmosphere of an ethereal documentary soundtrack.

This track quickly led to another, with both blending ambient textures with drone elements to create an immersive, meditative feeling. Composition and recording continued with unrestrained creativity, inspiration, and deeper sonic exploration, leading to 3 additional tracks and a total album duration of 94 minutes..
