Mangrove - Bridge To Fiction (2024)

Mangrove was founded in 1995 when school friends Roland van der Horst (guitar and vocals) and Joost Hagemeijer (drums and keyboards) joined forces and started writing their own compositions. In '98 they released the album "Cold World" as a project entitled Brainstorm.
Two years later, singer Eric Holdtman joined Roland and Joost, but unfortunately left in 2001 due to personal circumstances. In the meantime, Mangrove had released the first demo CD entitled "Massive Hollowness" with bass guitarist Pieter Drost. Keyboard parts were played by Joost Hagemeijer and Hans van der Linden. Shortly after the recording sessions, Chris Jonker joined Mangrove as the new permanent keyboardist.
Six studio and live albums were released in this line-up until 2011. This was followed by some changes in the band. Drummer Remco Engels sat down in Joost Hagemeijer's chair. But after a few years, Lex Bekkernens joined the band as drummer in 2016. During that period, a new album was written that would not be released until 2023.
In 2021, Chris Jonker left the band. In 2022, Ebert Zwart joined Mangrove as the new keyboardist / singer.
