The 14th addition to Retrospective’s invaluable series of the great songwriters pays tribute to London-born Julius Stein (1905-1994) who, as Jule Styne, created an amazing 1,500+ songs, many of them evergreen standards. The cream is collected on the aptly named There Goes That Song Again containing arguably his 27 finest. These include such timeless classics as I'll Walk Alone, It's Been A Long, Long Time, It’s Magic, Five Minutes More, I Don’t Want To Walk Without You, Saturday Night Is The Loneliest Night Of The Week, Just In Time, The Party’s Over and the Oscar-winning Three Coins In The Fountain.
As with each of the songwriter issues, an amazing roster of artists has been gathered, wherever possible contemporaneous with the song’s first appearance and in many cases associated with the original show or film. The line-up includes Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, Marilyn Monroe, Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Helen Forrest, Nat King Cole, Peggy Lee, Dinah Shore, Jo Stafford and many more.
