This summer, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its appearance on legendary Ibiza DJ José Padilla’s debut compilation album, Café del Mar Volume One, A Man Called Adam bring you a Special 2024 Edition of their timeless classic Estelle.

The release features the original, full length, Café del Mar mix alongside three previously unheard mixes that AMCA unearthed on an old DAT tape from 1994 that was languishing in the AMCA archives. Two of the new versions (the 7 INCH Edit and Extended mixes) are more stripped back giving the instrumentation and vocal (with flute by Eddie Parker) room to breath and reveal the track’s complex, polyrhythmic percussion and programming. AMCA’s Censer Remix is a languid, Chill R&B workout and a genuine, forgotten remix made at the time but never released. All are perfect for mixing.

In 1997 AMCA commissioned Rob Mello and Zaki Dee of Sensory Productions to remix tracks from their album Duende for their label Other Records. Their downtempo and bumping house versions of Estelle were originally released on the vinyl album Fear of Flying in 1998 and have never before had a digital release.

If you love Estelle, we hope you’ll enjoy this lovingly compiled Special 2024 Edition.
