Hush Hush is honored to welcome back Marigold Sun – the solo alias of NYC-based Singaporean-Australian musician Eric Li Harrison – to help present his third album, ‘Worlds Apart.’

Intimate upright piano recordings, synthesized string ensembles, tape-manipulated ambient atmospheres, and subtle field recordings blend delicately throughout ‘Worlds Apart,’ with Marigold Sun continuing to explore new shades within his impossibly warm, cinematic, blissful palette.

There’s a simple yet sophisticated beauty contained within the album’s 10 songs, which find inspiration in modern classical music, orchestral scores, and the works of artists such Ryuichi Sakamoto, Duval Timothy, Gigi Masin, and Aphex Twin.

Late-night ferry rides between Brooklyn and Manhattan played an integral role in the album’s creation. Early demos often served as an accompanying soundtrack to views of city lights reflecting off the water, stargazing, and people watching in the calm, brisk, nighttime air. The album’s tranquil, dreamy, and subtly expansive touch is also reflected in its pastoral artwork – a photo of Eric taken just outside of Gualala on Highway 1 during an influential trip along Northern California’s rugged coastline.
