Maria Banaszkiewicz-Bryła, an outstanding soloist and chamber musician, a teacher at the Poznań Academy, this time decided to interpret the music of Pieter Bustijn – a composer from the Kingdom of the Netherlands, who lived at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. He is a little-known figure in the Polish community of performers and musicologists, the lack of research on the composer's life and work goes hand in hand with the negligible number of recordings of his works. All the more valuable is the double album now available to you, on which the artist included pieces from the only preserved collection of Bustijn's compositions – IX Suittes pour le Clavessin, published in Amsterdam in 1712, dedicated to Pierre de Huybert, a Flemish councillor and probably the composer's patron. It is also one of the few collections of Dutch harpsichord music preserved to this day.
