Matthieu Prual - La Démesure du Pas (Musique migratoire - Enregistrement nomade) (2024) [Hi-Res]

La Démesure du pas explores music in motion, recorded outdoors. The sounds of instruments are infused with the rhythm of footsteps anchored in the breath of the body to open up to the excess of imagination and curl up into the world around us. In the spring of 2023, Matthieu Prouille alternated sessions of walking and exploring places in solo, duo and quartet. The VIP piece was recorded in an ultra-resonant submarine base, while the Sainte Marguerite piece was recorded in an alcove overlooking the Atlantic. In the compositions Mespras, Ritournelle Dorémi, Clarinette bulle, Eau to Crunch and Double Flûte, water becomes an element of musical play for Toma Guband's hands and stones and the saxophones and clarinets that dip their horns into it. Marche démesurante traverses the intimacy of a sunken path, Marche Fictive a large undulating space. Marche dans l'épaisseur unfolds in the summer heat, Somewhere reveals the clarity of a morning without a place and after a fantasy night, in the depth of music that listens to the world, open to the audible and inaudible.
