YOUNG VOICES sings jazz standards, as well as soul and pop. The main focus is on arrangements of large vocal ensembles, as well as new arrangements or specially written works.
In the new program "YOUNG VOICES ARE IMPORTANT", the ensemble is engaged in songs, the themes of which are currently exciting young singers – and have the highest personal and professional significance for them.
In addition to famous songs by Michael Jackson, Phil Collins and German singer-songwriter Dota, the choir also presents original compositions by Young Voices members.
YOUNG VOICES BRANDENBURG delight listeners in concert halls and jazz clubs, represent young German jazz on foreign tours in Europe, Africa, Asia and the USA.
Many of the current and former members of the ensemble study singing or joined the Federal Youth Jazz Orchestra.
The current line-up has given concerts, in particular, at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, performed Duke Ellington's "Sacred Concerts" at the Neuzelle Monastery together with the Brandenburg State Youth Jazz Orchestra and performed Uwe Steinmetz's composition "God is Now" at the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church of the NDR Big Band in Berlin.
This is the last recording of the choir under the Artistic direction of Prof. Mark Sekara, who left the post in 2019 after almost 20 years of service.
