"Of all the names we cycled through for our first record, ""Feats of Engineering"" was never much on the table until it became the obvious and only choice. The title track itself was a reference to infrastructure and transportation, a motif which haunts the album just as our long days stuck in a car have haunted us. The record takes place in NYC and LA, on subways and on the highway, and probably in a gas station somewhere in Iowa. Our time traversing America as musicians tends to be a blur. Interstates blend together, as forests rush by through a foggy window and a rusted bridge of unfathomable size and construction becomes yet another dot on the horizon.

"It wasn't until we were mixing the album that the double meaning of this title appeared, in an almost laughably obvious way. The record is a collage of work recorded in four different studios, in bedrooms, and in the car on some of those long journeys. The audio fidelity abruptly ricochets between hi and lo fi. Some beloved takes were simply lost over email, other essential moments were created by accident.

"It is the collaboration between all of our friends that worked on the record, and particularly the engineers, that exemplify the titular Feats. Deciding to make this record was a huge step for us as a band and as friends, making a commitment to each other that we were ready to share this body of work with the world."
