It is the balance between the individual and the collective sought through a sound dialogue of sensibilities that illuminates Jazz.
On this album, "I Wish", four artists dialogue giving us the best of themselves: John Stowell & Atlantic Bridge Trio. John Stowell, an outstanding American guitarist with an unmistakable and refined style, in conversation with the Atlantic Bridge Trio, with Alberto Conde, Kin García and Miguel Cabana. Musicians, with a unique personality and background that gives them their own voice. And that's where the originality and interest of their meeting comes from, to which they invite us and give us gifts, in which the result goes beyond the simple sum of the parts.
The trio was born more than a decade ago from another meeting, the one promoted by the American maestro Steve Brown from his relationship with Conde and which has given rise to the international project "Atlantic Bridge" from which it takes its name. As for John Stowell, in addition to his internationally recognized artistic stature, hand in hand with his friendship with Steve Brown he met Conde, García and Cabana when he visited Galicia as a teacher and performer, repeating on several occasions and playing with them in different public appearances. Thus, as it could not be otherwise, the recording of this album came about, which was completed in 2022.
Journey to the encounter, dialogue. "I Wish", the title track of the album you have in your hands, evokes in its very title a possibility, perhaps a dreamed hope, but actually what this work by John Stowell & Atlantic Bridge Trio makes clear is a tangible and solid reality: the evidence of a present-day Jazz album, plenty of creativity, mastery, good taste and authenticity that takes flight and summons us above any border or ocean.
