Guitarist and composer Pravit Siriwat's debut jazz-rock album Blueberry combines thrash riffs, tactile soundscapes and contemplative melodies. The album is filled with energy and crisp guitar tones, and showcases the thrill of synthesizing mode and meaning. The team of musicians includes Daniel Durst on bass and Abel Tabares on drums, and their synchronicity and improvisation is reflected in the album's tracks. The trio pushes the boundaries of form and context, fusing funky house beats with atonal phrases. Within the album, there are both powerful and hard-hitting tracks such as “WTFU” and “Diomedes” and softer and more emotional numbers such as “Currents” and “Lullaby”. The album also includes a completely open section in the track “House Sitting Secretly” where the trio's interplay really shines. The closing track “Season Finale Montage” is the soundtrack to the finale of an imaginary sitcom and has a triumphant sound. Blueberry is an illustration of a personal and cultural era and a search for Pravit Siriwat's creative voice.
