Written before his career as a musician, whilst still working as a firefighter, Sean Nelson's debut album as Ruthven is creatively brimming with jazzy, experimental subtleties that anchor the album's clear love of classic songwriting. Ruthven's melodic soft rock takes nuanced inspiration from Prince and Steely Dan, with contributions from A.K. Paul and Francis Anthony 'Eg' White.
