Berenika meets jazz is the name of the solo record of the actress and singer Berenika Kohoutová.

In reality, however, Berenika met Emil Viklický. It happened by chance during the filming of the TV movie Rytmus v pátá, for which Emil composed the music and Berenika played and sang a jazz singer in it. She liked the role so much that she began to realize it, and the meeting of the young actress and the deserving jazzman created a creative duo. Berenika writes lyrics and sings, Emil Viklický composes and plays the piano. They also invited other musicians Tomáš Hobzek and Petr Dvorský to collaborate, Miroslav Hloucal and Petr Kalfus are also guests.

The result is original pop jazz that mixes elements of classic jazz with youthful audacity, sometimes even surprising lyricism. On the record, original compositions and adopted standards stand side by side, such as the duet "It's dangerous to touch the stars" with Vojtěch Dyk.

Berenika Kohoutová performed from the age of sixteen in the band Discoballs, relatively well-known on the ska scene, otherwise she is known more as an actress.
