Flatlands is a new John Zorn project for rock power trio, in the tradition of Simulacrum, Naked City and Insurrection: twelve short pieces that turn on a dime, built on riffs, atonal melodies, shifting rhythms and virtuoso solos, intense, quirky and ecstatic.

The trio is made of three of Zorn's closest collaborators of recent years: Matt Hollenberg on electric guitar, Simon Hanes on electric bass and Ches Smith on drums.
