Composer and double bassist Jean Félix Mailloux has been fascinated by mythology since childhood. This fascination was solidified when he visited the Parthenon in Athens at the age of 16 during a tour in Greece with the Montreal Youth Symphony Orchestra. Since then, he has continually drawn inspiration from mythology to create musical works that pay tribute to legendary creatures.

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Cordâme is releasing its 11th album, honoring the great female deities of mythology. As the father of three daughters, Jean Félix wanted to honor the women in his life and surroundings by creating this enchanting repertoire. The pieces, both mysterious and majestic, are imbued with timeless and magical melodies that invite listeners to dream and reflect.

In this dreamlike universe, the harp, piano, and strings, propelled by fiery percussion, take the audience on an emotional journey. This new opus, titled Mystical Goddesses, presents 11 original compositions by Mailloux, celebrating Cordâme's longevity and creativity after two decades of captivating music.
