On November 8th Jackson Darby releases "Harmony in a Vacuum" under his NPNP moniker on David Psutka's Halocline Trance imprint.

Harmony in a Vacuum meanders through dreamy textures, dark timbral juxtaposition, and euphoric crescendos. Through sampling instrumental takes from various NPNP recording sessions with various musicians and recontextualizing, processing and effecting them Darby creates a rich sonic pallet to draw from and compose with. This process of meta-sampling deals with musical quantum time - weaving ideas of counterpoint that include contrasting spaces, fidelity and instrumentation with newly realized versions of themselves. Through this cyclical process of recording, processing through modular synth and reel-to-reel tape and re-recording again and again NPNP has created an abstract narrative that throughout feels ethereal, grounded and grotesque.

This music is made up of these heavily processed source recordings however, some of the source material is less processed and more true to the original takes and some instruments recorded over nearly finished compositions.
