Originally blending dark folk with Eastern European cabaret and electronic influences, Drinking Songs became a deep exploration of human vulnerability. This anniversary edition, recorded at L’Autre Canal in Nancy with double bassist Anne-Elisabeth de Cologne and pianist Barbara Dang, breathes new life into Elliott's introspective compositions. With new layers of piano, double bass, and saxophone, the live album brings an even more poignant, raw depth to Elliott's work, capturing the emotional essence of his artistry at 50.
