‘My Name is Giridhar Udupa’ is the first solo album by master Ghatam player Giridhar Udupa from Bengaluru. The Ghatam is an ancient clay percussion instrument from South Indian Carnatic music, made from five types of clay. Udupa began playing at the age of nine and has since performed worldwide, blending traditional, fusion, and jazz styles.

The album features four tracks: “Adi”, “Kushi”, “Chakra”, and “Bhoomi”, reflecting emotional and natural elements. The music is built on improvisation around a set scale, creating complex rhythms and deep soundscapes. Udupa collaborated with producer Shackleton, combining live energy with studio experimentation.

This album explores the richness of the Carnatic tradition and inspires new musical discoveries.
