Raquy Danziger, an American musician, has broken into the traditionally male-dominated world of Middle Eastern drumming, captivating audiences with her skill and passion. Trained as a classical pianist, Raquy discovered hand drumming in India and later embraced the Middle Eastern dumbek. She formed the group Raquy and the Cavemen and plays the kamanche, an Iranian bowed instrument. Raquy is a sought-after teacher in NYC, inspiring many students and sparking interest in Middle Eastern drumming across America. She has released several albums, including "Masmudi" featuring traditional Middle Eastern music.
