Kristiansen // Vemøy, Øyvind Kristiansen, Jonas Kilmork Vemøy - Hymns for Sheperds and Kings (2024) [Hi-Res]

On November 26th, Kulturkirken Jakob will host the release concert for "Hymns for Shepherds and Kings", the third album by the duo Kristiansen // Vemøy. This evening offers a unique opportunity to experience their new album for the first time, taking the audience on a musical journey through reinterpretations of Christmas hymns, blending the message of joy and hope with the harsh realities of life.

The album builds on the musical language of their previous works: "Hymns of Compassion" (2021), which explored human struggle and hope, and "Hymns of Longing" (2022), celebrated as one of the best Norwegian jazz albums of the year. The new release combines elements of jazz, classical music, and electronic sounds, creating a unique sonic universe that spans the full spectrum of human emotions.

The concert will take place in the same church where the album was recorded, offering not just a musical experience but also a contemplative journey for both the soul and the mind. Kristiansen // Vemøy, renowned for their individual projects and collaborations, continue to solidify their reputation as outstanding performers and composers.
