Miqedem - Eshkona (2023) [Hi-Res]

Miqedem's third album Eshkona ("I will rest") is their most collaborative and instrumentally diverse release, featuring guest appearances from various artists in the Israeli world-music scene. The album's creation began during the pandemic in early 2021, when the band members recorded demos in a makeshift studio in a Tel Aviv attic. Production halted due to travel restrictions, but resumed in 2022 when the band reunited in Israel and worked with producer Shahar Kaufman at Onyx Studio in Rosh Pina.

The title Eshkona is derived from the track "Ever Kayona (Wings of a Dove)," reflecting themes of rest and peace, which resonate throughout the album both musically and lyrically. The music is notably calmer and more restful than previous works, a result of the stress and instability during its creation. The artwork, designed by Noa Goffer, complements the album's nature-inspired imagery, with a child-like approach to plant-life and animals. The album was mixed by Dan Zeitune and mastered by Aran Lavi.
