Kratzen - III (2025) [Hi-Res]

Kratzen, a band from Cologne, has released their third album, III, which they describe as "krautwave"—a fusion of krautrock's repetitive structures and new wave's cool aesthetics and rhythmic guitars. The album emphasizes minimalism, adhering to self-imposed rules: no drum fills, no solos, and lyrics that avoid storytelling. This approach results in a trance-like soundscape with a compelling pull. The album is best experienced as a whole, with its slogan-like lyrics complementing the hypnotic music. Produced by Olaf Opal, known for his work with The Notwist and Klee, III is available from January 17, 2025, on platforms like Bandcamp and select stores.
