RUNG HYANG, a singer and soul writer who transcends genres such as jazz, hip-hop, soul, and folk, will release his long-awaited new album "MOMENT" on April 2nd, his first in seven years, ahead of his spring Billboard Live tour.
The album includes singles released since last year such as "Reri-Lo," which combines a 70s sweet soul-style chorus with a trap-style beat; "Part of me," a ballad about parting with and "seeing off" a loved one; "Life is vintage," a mid-tempo tune with the theme of aging; and "Bounce up all the time," an up-tempo song that takes on the popular South African music genre "amapiano." The album also includes "MOMENT," a cheerful disco boogie produced by Tomokazu Matsuzawa (T.O.M.) that brings to mind a sparkling mirror ball; "week by week," a sweet song created with Shingo.S that savors the preciousness of "walking together through everyday life that exists as a matter of course," set in a vintage Y2K neo-soul sound world; "Uri-Ari-Ran," which he wrote about his roots as a third-generation Korean living in Japan and was produced for the first time with Mori Zentaro; and "Trapped (Kan Sano Remix)," "Hateful Person (☆Taku Takahashi The album contains nine tracks, including "(Remix)" and a popular remix that caused a buzz last year.
It's like he's looking back at his "roots" in a different way to last year's EP "CLASSIC," and it's a work that makes him stand tall and proud of his own identity.
