His notable works include the 1981 album *Picasso Portraits*, inspired by Pablo Picasso's paintings, and collaborations with artists like Rory Gallagher, Herbie Hancock, and performances alongside Miles Davis. In 1984, his track "Love Theme from The Thorn Birds" reached number 10 on the UK Singles Chart. Martín is also the author of influential flamenco guitar method books, such as *El Arte Flamenco de la Guitarra* and *Solos Flamencos*, which have been well-received in the English-speaking world.
